Job Description
Woodland Community College is located in the heart of Yolo County about 15 miles northwest of Sacramento. With a rural service area including centers in Williams and Clearlake the college is surrounded with rich agricultural farmland and is one the largest crop production areas in the state. The area is an excellent choice for quality of life with close proximity to the Sierra Nevada for outdoor recreation a burgeoning farm to fork movement and access to the metropolitan areas of Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. Woodland Community College seeks a strong well rounded organic chemistry educator who has demonstrated experience or potential to be an excellent teacher at a community college and who can provide leadership or contribute positively in areas such as: development of the chemistry program and curriculum; keeping course offerings upto date and relevant; staying abreast of and communicating the current trends in STEM education; collaborating with area high schools; and contributing to oversight of the chemistry lab.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The successful candidate by the final filing date must possess the minimum qualifications at least one of the disciplines below. Possess a masters degree in chemistry OR Bachelors in chemistry or biochemistry AND Masters in biochemistry chemical engineering chemical physics physics molecular biology or geochemistry OR The Equivalent EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT : All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District YCCD by the application filing date. Alternatively applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement.
