With over 300 animals in our handson zoo and over 100 activities Cub Creek Science Camp is not your average summer camp. We have staff and campers from all over the world who all share the same passion for science nature and animals.

Cub Creek Science Camp is a residential summer camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable and unique summer camp experience but above all else we strive to help our campers gain selfconfidence discover who they are and make lasting friendships!

Requirements

Work cooperatively with Cabin Counselors and support staff to provide a healthy safe and enjoyable camp environment and experience for all campers. Camper Advocates are responsible for supporting cabin counselors in the effective behavior management and emotional support of campers.



Key Responsibilities:


Support cabin counselors and campers in creating a positive cabin environment


Communicate with cabin counselors camp office and program directors on camper wellbeing and experience


Support camper emotional and behavioral needs with issues such as homesickness and refer and report incidents to camp wellness coordinator and program director


Assist cabin counselors and special events coordinator in organizing special camper experiences such as sneak outs and birthday celebrations


Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities




Required Experience and Skills:


Completed at least 2 year of college education. Experience working with children or teens in a camp or educational setting desired.


A desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to put the needs of campers first


Have a passion for science animals and childhood development


Able to effectively communicate ideas and instructions in a constructive manner


Selfmotivated and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal supervision


Be willing to learn new concepts and skills


Able to work in a team and both give and take direction from others


Willingness to adhere to camps code of conduct rules and policies

Benefits

Starting pay $4500 for 12 week summer. Additional $100 credit in camp store for snacks and supplies. Housing meals and laundry included. Weekend work is required this position requires availability to work onsite 7 days a week for the contract period. 2hour break provided each day and 1 scheduled day off each week.Additional leadership training and certifications are available to the right candidates including high ropes course and lifeguard certifications.
