    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    1. An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) as deemed necessary by
    2. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university (preferred) unless otherwise specified by the New Jersey Department of Education.

    BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students bydeveloping students skills and competence in basic and advanced plumbing techniques tools and practices safety protocols as well as an understanding of the application of plumbing principles in practical and realworld scenarios.
    2. Implement a comprehensive plumbing curriculum and maintain familiarity with district and New Jersey State vocational standards and certifications for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement and certification success.
    3. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for plumbing translating them into practical learning experiences to develop sequential skills challenge students and effectively utilize instructional time.
    4. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress and modifies instructional methods to meet individual student needs including those with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as necessary.
    5. Evaluates student progress through assignments projects and exams on a regular basis and prepares progress reports.
    6. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the plumbing and educational fields by attending seminars workshops or professional meetings. In order to maintain knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
    7. Coordinates with other professional staff members especially within grade level and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
    8. Instructs pupils in proper care and use of textbooks equipment and materials to ensure student safety protocols.
    9. Enforce all safety protocols in the classroom and lab settings.
    10. Conduct regular safety inspections tools equipment and lab facilities.
    11. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction handson learning and student engagement.
    12. Ensures that student conduct conforms to the schools standards and school district policies and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
    13. Selects and requisitions books instructional materials equipment aids and maintains required inventory records.
    14. Develops and maintains professional competence through participation in inservice education activities provided by the district and in selfselected professional growth activities.
    15. Encourage student participation in skills competitions and industry related events.
    16. Develop and promote student leadership civic responsibility and citizenship through the integration of Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) activities into the curriculum and through membership and participation in CTSO conferences and competitions
    17. Supervises out of classroom activities for pupils during the assigned working day as required.
    18. Plans and coordinates the work of aides teacher assistants and other paraprofessionals.
    19. Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff members on the individual pupils progress and development.
    20. Maintains attendance accounting and business service as required.
    21. Develops and participates in the sponsorship of student activities and faculty committees.
    22. Acts as a resource person on an interdepartmental level to relate appropriate aspects of his/her subject area to other subject areas
    23. Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
    24. Perform other duties and tasks assigned by Supervisor.
    REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL

    SALARY EMPLOYMENT PERIOD & UNION AFFILIATION
    1. Salary: $67000$111625
    2. Employment Period: Ten 10 Months
    3. Union Affiliation:Newark Teachers Union (NTU)
