Job Description
Clean Harbors is seeking aLab Chemist.In this position you areresponsible for the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.
Shift:Must be able to work a rotating shift to include days nights and weekends.

Responsibilities
- Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices policies and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Analysis of various metals to include but not limited to mercury
- Wet chemistry testing including Chlorine and Fluoride analysis
- Performs analysis of facility samples using GC IC ICP and various analytical laboratory instruments
- Sample digestion
- Calibrate maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Properly manage waste generated as a result of analytical procedures
- Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all applicable OSHA regulations
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors
- Must be able to work a rotating shift to include days nights and weekends.
- Bachelor of Sciencerequired (Chemistry Biology Environmental Science or related science preferred)
- 3years of prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred
- 1 year experience with ICP instrumentation for metals preferred
- Wet chemistry flashpoint Calorimetry experience preferred
- TOC (Total Organic Carbon) preferred
- Wastewater experience a plus!
- Knowledge operating GC IC is nice to have!
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Computer savvy
- Must have a positive safety record
- Ability to document record and analyze data and information
- Lift up to 50lbs climbing stairs bend stoop and stand for long hours.
