Job Description
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology required.
- Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Licensed by the VA Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist required.
- Three 3 years of clinical experience required.

Position Summary:
Sovah Danville is seeking a PRN RT Mammography Tech to perform mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Review patient history and physicians orders.
- Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exams to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
- When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
- Prepares equipment and supplies.
- Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) biopsies stereotactic and special procedures.
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enters transmits and reports scan results.
- Keeps current with BiRad and followups on all patients.
