Reporting to the to the VP of Student Affairs the Chief of Police will be responsible for directing the personnel and resources in the University Police Department in a manner that best provides for the safety and security of the members of the campus community. Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in concepts of modern law enforcement and community policing and be able to provide leadership direction and administration to a large complex organization.

Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally) bending and carrying. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Work environment includes outdoor weather conditions which may be adverse or for extended periods of time. Multiple shifts which may include 12 hours on a DuPont Schedule. Patrols required with and without vehicle throughout the entire campus environment. The employee may be required to carry drag or restrain individuals from 50 to 300 pounds and lift in excess of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
