- Reading and interpreting blueprints sketches and project specifications to understand and plan job requirements.
- Cutting welding and assembling iron and steel girders columns and other building materials to form bridges buildings and other structures.
- Ensuring all ironwork is completed in a safe efficient and highquality manner adhering to all relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Inspecting and testing installed ironwork structures and materials to ensure they meet project specifications building codes and safety standards.
- Collaborating with the team and other construction professionals including engineers and architects to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Maintaining tools and equipment ensuring they are in good working order and safe to use.
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Ironworker with a portfolio of completed projects.
- Indepth knowledge of iron and steel erection and construction with an understanding of the properties and uses of different types of metal.
- Proficient in welding and other ironwork techniques with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches with strong problemsolving skills to overcome any challenges that arise during construction.
- Strong physical condition and endurance with the ability to work at heights lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid certification or license may be required along with a commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
