The Role: Associate Director Energy Transition.

The Energy Transition Consulting team works with clients across the traditional and new energy sectors to adapt manage the risks and seize the opportunities of the energy transition. We specialize in providing strategic advice analysis and solutions to companies making the transition from traditional energy systems to lowcarbon alternatives.

We help our clients assess the impact of lowcarbon scenarios on their operations and the implications of emissions targets and develop comprehensive energy transition strategies that align with their business objectives while taking into account the regulatory environment market trends and sustainability goals.

We support our clients in the integration and development of renewable and lowcarbon energy sources by providing strategic recommendations analysis and insights on renewable energy energy storage cleantech innovation and supply chains lowcarbon fuels including hydrogen and renewable natural gas and technoeconomic analysis of CCUS opportunities and carbon markets.

This role will contribute as a core member of a growing consulting practice to the management of projects for private and public sector clients by providing analytical and subject matter expertise communicating effectively with clients and leading business development initiatives. The role will contribute to the growth and success of the broader consulting business by providing creative ideas towards client engagement consulting project and business development.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of consultants and experts with wideranging backgrounds in energy and the energy transition. The varied and changing nature of our projects leads to development of a diverse set of skills and exposure to different industries and clients including senior industry leaders and policy makers.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead consulting assignments under the direction of a senior leadership for key public and private sector clients across the region and globally when required.
  • Ensure project resources are dedicated and progress happens against the project plan to ensure ontime delivery of a quality set of products.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the relevant industry or work process become a recognized expert on chosen topics of interest within the team and the broader organization.
  • Interact with clients to identify core issues to be addressed and develop compelling and responsive proposals. Work with the sales team and other colleagues to successfully close consulting leads.
  • Participate in client or industry events and share key takeaways that impact the consulting teams work and priorities.
  • Lead client meetings and the presentation of proposals or project reports.
  • Be able to work autonomously in the negotiation and /delivery of consulting engagements while managing a regional and at times a global project team.
  • Continuously broaden knowledge across the energy transition and lowcarbon energy space; build external recognition through interactions with clients presentations at client company and industry events and collaboration with sales/marketing staff.

What Were Looking For:

  • Significant experience in industry consulting or finance environments
    • Experience in management consulting will be a significant plus.
    • Experience in areas related to the energy sector.
    • Exposure to various aspects of the energy value chain including production processing or distribution and consumption.
    • The ability to work with autonomy and minimal direction once priorities are agreed is preferrable.
  • Minimum qualifications are BSc. In a related field such as Environmental Science Engineering or Energy Management ; Business or Finance with a focus on sustainability.
  • A postgraduate degree is a plus (including in finance economics or business).
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills in English a second language is a plus.
  • Must have an analytical frame of mind and be prepared to use data to back up opinions.
  • Some travel is required with an average around 20 of the time (but could occasionally be more)
  • Ability to work well in a teamoriented environment providing ideas and open feedback.
