As an HVAC Refrigeration Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance adjustment monitoring and operation of heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment at Middletown Airbase. In this position you will perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all HVAC units and assist in the installation of liquid petroleum and natural gas related equipment. Your duties will include installing new units and component parts making adjustments and repairing various types of HVAC systems. You can expect to identify and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions perform diagnostics and test equipment to ensure functionality. Additionally you will prepare material lists of assigned jobs maintain records of work performed and material utilized and return any unused material and equipment to stock.

- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in the maintenance repair and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems units and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.
Special Requirements:
You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.
Additional Requirements:
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Middletown Airbase.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness and ability to work in Dauphin County Pennsylvania
- Possession of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification
- Possession of an Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification
- Experience in the maintenance repair or installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems units and equipment
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and/or writing diagrams/schematics.
- Experience making adjustments as well as minor and major repairs to the heating systems (steam hot water and gas) and refrigeration and freezer units (reachin and walkin)
- Experience installing refrigeration or HVAC systems units equipment and peripheral devices
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on all related equipment
- Experience responding to emergencies by going onsite and troubleshooting problems
- Experience making adjustments online or inperson if necessary to maintain comfortable conditions
- Experience conducting building inspections to ensure adequate heating cooling humidifying dehumidifying and circulation in buildings
