About the Role

The Associate Dean Learning and Teaching provides leadership for learning and teaching within the School. In conjunction with the Dean the School Executive and the Associate Deputy ViceChancellor Learning Teaching and Quality the incumbent develops and leads the implementation of the Schools Education Plan aligned to University College plans and targets and regularly reports and reviews performance.

The Associate Dean provides strategic and scholarly leadership supporting a community of practice related to learning and teaching; student experience and outcomes and the enhancement of academic quality and standards. They are a member of the School Executive and work closely with the Dean of School of Education and Associate Dean Discipline/s on all School learning and teaching matters and work with Associate Deans Learning and Teaching in other DSC Schools to support crossdisciplinary practices and networks. They collaborate with the Associate Deans Research and Innovation to identify opportunities to draw research and education agendas closer together.

To be successful for this position youll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing L&T leadership and expertise that contributes to improved student outcomes.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in initiating leading and managing academic teams and projects in a collegiate environment to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant quality policy and standards including academic governance.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and to act tactically based on organisational priorities and objectives.
