Job Description
INTERNSHIP TYPE: Internship Masters Level
PROGRAM: New Life Center
SITE LOCATION: Putnam CT
HOURS/SCHEDULE: Negotiable
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: NEW LIFE CENTER
CHRs New Life Center is a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment program designed to accommodate women with substance abuse and cooccurring mental health disorders who have infants toddlers under the age of 4yo and/or expectant mothers. Children reside in the facility with their Mothers in order to promote a healthy parental bond with the focus of developing effective parenting skills. Estimated length of stay is 46 months with the goal of preparing for a healthy and safe substance free lifestyle.
PROGRAM OUTLINE:
By participating as a Masters Level Intern with CHR you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment as well as other services including assessment consultation individual couples group family treatment and medication evaluation and monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must be enrolled in a masters degree program in mental health field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid drivers license
