The Full Time Activity Assistant at Lantern Crest Senior Living in Santee California is responsible for coordinating and facilitating engaging activities for residents in the Independent Living Building. This role requires creativity compassion and the ability to connect with and support seniors in a meaningful way. The activity assistant will work closely with the activity director and other staff to develop and implement programs that promote socialization cognitive stimulation physical wellbeing and emotional fulfillment for our residents.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning coordinating and leading a variety of activities and events such as games arts and crafts music and dance exercise classes and outings
Engage and encourage resident participation in activities respecting individual preferences and abilities
Provide supervision and assistance to residents during activities ensuring their safety and wellbeing
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activity programs
Collaborate with the activity director and other staff to create and update activity calendars and schedules
Assist with the setup cleanup and organization of activity areas and equipment
Communicate effectively with residents families and staff to promote a positive and inclusive activity environment
Attend and actively participate in meetings trainings and workshops related to activity programming and resident care
Perform other duties as assigned by the activity director or management team
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with seniors preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
Demonstrated passion for working with older adults and promoting their wellbeing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan organize and lead activities that are engaging and meaningful
Basic knowledge of the physical cognitive and emotional needs of seniors
Ability to prioritize tasks multitask and adapt to changing priorities
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame)
Must pass background checks and drug screening
Availability to work weekends evenings and holidays as needed
