Job Title: EC&I Design Engineer

Salary: 34000 to 54000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week flexible hours
Contract / Permanent: Permanent
Site Based / Office / Remote: This role is predominantly based in Ellesmere Port with occasional site visits required and up to 2 days per week WFH

Role Requirements

Organised: must have an organised approach to project work including strict revision control and documentation aptitude.
Qualification & Experience:
Must have at least 5 years experience ideally degree qualified or timeserved apprenticeship.
Must have demonstrable experience working on designs for hazardous areas installations and CompEX EX01EX04 and/or EX12 modules are advantageous.
Knowledge and experience on gas analytical and metering systems is highly advantageous but not essential.
Should have experience and knowledge of electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 18th Edition).
Primary Duties
Design packs: Develop clear and concise drawing and document packs and review existing packs with a keen eye for detail. Be able to assist in compilation of functional design specifications FAT and SAT documents for analytical and metering systems
Calculations: carry out cable calculations I.S Loop Calculations (DSDs) AC and DC load schedules lighting calculations and thermal capacity calculations and ensure their accuracy.
Advise: Use your garnered knowledge to train and advise the Junior EC&I design engineers on engineering principals and guidelines. Attend client meetings and be comfortable representing the company when face to face with clients.
Bridge the gap: Work closely with the sitebased engineers and commissioning engineers to continuously improve our standards and help the design team to view their projects from multiple perspectives including maintenance shipping and decommissioning.
Secondary Duties
Process improvement: build a clear image of the existing processes and offer improvements and suggestions.
Commissioning: Aid the commissioning team during preFAT and FAT with any EC&I related issues
