    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. Minimum of one year experience in related area performing secretarial or general office work in an office with considerable public contact or an equivalent combination of experience education and/or training that demonstrates desired knowledge skills and abilities may be considered.
    3. Working knowledge of computer wordprocessing and Microsoft Office applications and Google.
    4. Have knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.
    5. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
    2. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form
    3. Ability to type or keyboard and possess working knowledge of standard office equipment.
    4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    5. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members.
    6. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    7. Ability to use technology in the workplace.
    8. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    9. Ensure information obtained through duties associated with this position is held in the highest confidentiality.
    10. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Meet regularly with the Administrators in Curriculum to develop and prioritize work projects (District Library Media Specialist Associate Director of Curriculum and Instructional Technology Coordinator).
    2. Maintains a schedule of appointments arranges conferences/interviews travel arrangements and/or hotel accommodations maintains appointment calendars and schedules processes incoming correspondence and mail.
    3. Takes and transcribes dictation of various types including correspondence reports notices recommendations and may attend meetings in the role of recorder.
    4. Obtains gathers and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into usable form.
    5. Assists in a wide variety of confidential administrative and secretarial support to the assigned District Office Administrators/Supervisors/Specialist. Including but not limited to placing and receiving telephone calls greeting customers and screening unexpected callers in accordance with a predetermined policy.
    6. Refers nonjob specific inquiries to appropriate departments.
    7. Maintains a regular filing system and a set of locked confidential files and maintains and processes incoming correspondence documents and materials as instructed and for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties handles leave requests and sets up conferences and processes maintenance and purchase requisition orders.
    8. Maintains documents files and records for the purpose of providing uptodate accounting of departmental budgets and permanent employee records.
    9. Composes complex documents (e.g. correspondence reports information brochures presentations etc. for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel the public state officials etc.
    10. Evaluates situations (e.g. involving other staff students parents the public etc. for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
    11. Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with parents students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Curriculum Secretary (District Office) reports to the assigned District Office Administrator/Supervisors/Specialist. The Curriculum Secretary (District Office) will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN: Starting at$15.35 Per Hour
    WORK YEAR: 12 Months/8 hours per day
