This position provides support and supervision of the Clerical and Billing team and oversight of the Departments operations. This includes staffing scheduling managing patient related inquiries and ensuring all financial processes and reporting are being followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise clerical and billing team members. Provide training and guidance on a daily basis.
  • Post jobs conduct interviews and hire PSCs to fill the positions in Medical Imaging.
  • Create orientation plans for new hires and monitor their progress and performance.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular team meetings and huddles providing support to the team with their concerns.
  • Work closely with the Medical Imaging Patient Care Leadership Team (PCLT) and to ensure optimal operations of diagnostic and procedural services.
  • Ensure registration and scheduling teams are scheduled optimally and resourced appropriately.
  • Assist the team with resolving any issues escalated by staff providers patients or caregivers.
  • Liaise with community providers when appropriate.
  • Ensure patient schedules in Medical Imaging are maximized across all modalities (Xray CT IR MRI Ultrasound Nuclear Medicine). This includes ensuring that those modalities with high waitlists do not have any gaps in scheduling and the most urgent and appropriate patients are being scheduled.
  • Monitor noshow and cancellation rates of diagnostic and procedural visits and implement mitigation strategies when appropriate.
  • Respond to patient concerns related to scheduling privacy and access to services in MI.
  • Support team with justintime management of workload as well as ongoing review of workload to ensure essential tasks are being managed within targeted timeframes.
  • Work closely with CHEO Finance Department and clerical staff to ensure all accounts are in good standing.
  • Submit reporting for wait times to ensure compliance associated with MRI Wait Times funding.
  • Conduct analysis of billing to ensure we are maximizing the available billing for each modality.
  • Develop billing standards for new procedures and diagnostics in MI in accordance with the schedule of benefits.
  • Support CHEOs continuous quality improvement process by working with staff and medical staff within MI and CHEO to improve access to imaging for patients in our community.
  • Respond to MI safety events related to scheduling registration privacy.
  • Assist the Director Medical Imaging and Chief of Medical Imaging with special projects and other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Criminal Record Check (Essential)
  • Minimum of a 2year Diploma in Finance Health Administration Business Administration or a related field. (Essential)
  • Master of Health Administration (Preferred)
  • Minimum of three 3 years in hospital operations or relevant experience (Essential)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) (Preferred)
  • Experience in supervision (Essential)
  • Experience in working in a healthcare organization (Essential)
  • Experience in using Medical Imaging software and systems (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (Essential)

Effective March 29 2021 CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive prescreening and evaluation process. This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test practical exam or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested.
