The Department of Health Policy and Management at the Texas A&M University School of Public Health (SPH) invites applications for a tenured tenuretrack or academic professional track (nontenure) position with a fulltime 9month appointment. Applicants will be considered for the rank of Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice Associate Professor of Practice or Professor of Practice or the rank of Instructional Assistant Professor Instructional Associate Professor or Instructional Professor depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will direct our Master of Health Administration (MHA) program.
The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary academic teams to teach courses in health management and health administration provide mentoring for MHA students and if in a tenured/tenuredtrack track position contribute to health management scholarship. The Department is especially interested in applicants with training and demonstrated interest in health management.
Faculty enjoy fullyfunded 9month appointments with teaching research and service responsibilities as appropriate for their rank and track. This appointment is scheduled to start August 1st 2025 though the formal start date is negotiable.
The Department is seeking a colleague qualified to direct the MHA Program who can effectively develop and execute a vision for our Top 30 MHA program (residential) as well as a relaunched executive MHA (EMHA) program. The ideal candidate for this position will be effective at strategic planning academic assessment and studentfocused leadership. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of and ability to teach healthcare management. Research scholarship and creative activities in the department represent a wide array of disciplines expertise and interests. The Departments faculty have backgrounds in data science economics health services research public health political science dentistry law and management science. Our faculty members are highly collaborative with substantial research strengths across a variety of areas including health care access and delivery infrastructures quality of health care services critical access hospitals longterm care policies Medicaid managed care chronic disease burden maternal and child health health disparities data privacy as well as mental and behavioral health among others.
