Job Description Summary
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing designing and implementing business systems solutions to improve overall business efficiency and productivity. The role involves gathering and documenting business requirements analyzing process and systems and identifying areas for improvement developing and implementing solutions to address those areas and system upgrades. Serves as the conduit between stakeholders and Chapmans IS&T department to translate business requirements into IT solutions. This position is projectbased will support the Office of the Provost operations and report to the Assistant Provost in the Office of Operations and Finance.
Responsibilities
Business Analyst Responsibilities: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their business processes systems and data requirements. Analyze and document business requirements processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Design and develop solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity such as process automation system integration and data analytics. Develop and maintain detailed project plans including timelines budgets and resource requirements. Work with developers and other IT staff to ensure successful implementation of solutions. Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in business systems analysis and design. Systems Analyst Responsibilities: Perform system testing user acceptance testing and enduser training. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide ongoing support and maintenance for business systems solutions. Ensure all operational functions run as expected and provide triage when there are issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Business Administration or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills in order to recommend strategic solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in requirements gathering documentation and management. Experience with business process modeling workflow design and data modeling. Excellent written skills to produce materials that are clear concise and accurate. Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to work with sensitive/confidential information and maintain security of records. Technical ability to learn and use enterprise software and other data systems. Ability to present Chapman University and the Office of the Provost in a positive and professional manner. Ability to learn understand and stay current on relevant Chapman policies and procedures.
