The Standardized Patient reports directly to the Coordinator of the Nursing Simulation Lab. Theprimary responsibility of the Standardized Patient is to portray the characteristics of a real patient simulating all aspects of the created scenarios primarily in the simulated inpatient setting including history of current problem affect/behavior and physical findings in a standardized accurate and reliable manner. Scenario facts must be accurately memorized retained and portrayed. Scenarios may be audio and videotaped for evaluative purposes. TheStandardized Patient must be willing to assist with simulation tasks such as resetting scenarios and occasionally offering feedback. This position will work approximately 100200 hours per academic semester approximately and 50 hours during the summer semester.

$15.00 per hour
High school diploma or equivalent.
Varied and to be determined; not to exceed 28 per week.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans 403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
