The Trial Court Accounting Division of the Anchorage Trial Court is accepting applications for a Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10. In this capacity you will serve as a Trial Court Accounting clerk responsible for file maintenance and processing of the civil/small claims case load.


Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for an advance step placement.


Employees working in this job classification will be considered for annual salary increases upon successful completion of a 1year probationary period. This job classification will promote to range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.



The Position

  • Respond to a large variety of questions following division standards in person and by telephone;
  • Perform duties of other positions in the department for crosstraining purposes and to help with backlog that may occur;
  • Receive new filings for civil domestic small claims and appeal files and enter appropriate docket screen in CourtView case management system for each document; determine priorities and take appropriate action or route files accordingly;
  • Close case files when appropriate and make necessary computer entry; complete judgments by calculating interest and/or entering awards for costs and attorney fees; other duties as assigned.
  • Issue writs of and garnishment for collection;
  • Receipt funds for garnishments executions research fees fines restitution and direct payments;
  • May receive cash bail and bonds for data entry;
  • Research civil criminal probate and small claims files and paperwork for proper documentation prior to release of funds;
  • May balance the daily bank deposit with generated receipts and computer runs;
  • Assist in other divisions when there is downtime.


You must be able to operate a 10key calculator by touch have working knowledge of Windows Microsoft Word Excel spreadsheets and formulas.

The Work Hours
Fulltime court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a onehour lunch break.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

Substitution:

Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a monthformonth basis.

Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.

Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary paralegal or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a monthformonth basis.

WORK HISTORY
