Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the design concept through the preparation of electrical detailed design production drawings and schematics for industrial commercial and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Design and prepare layouts and specification for lighting electrical distribution (single line diagrams) emergency power distribution fire alarm wiring diagrams riser diagrams cable and panel schedules.
- Engage in meetings with clients contractors and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
- Provide expertise and guidance in the identification analysis and resolution of problems.
- Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
- Create technical reports documentation calculations and sketches.
- Create specifications and equipment selection.
- Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
- Consistently follow company policies procedures and file structures/formatting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Postsecondary Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is required.
- 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial commercial and/or institutional buildings.
- Work experience designing HV substations fire alarms lighting emergency power generation MV and LV distribution systems and large electrical systems.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code Ontario Building Code (OBC) Canadian National Building Code (NBC) etc.
- Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
- Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
