Ice Resurfacer Driver Part-Time XL Center

Ice Resurfacer Drivers are responsible for maintaining ice quality to NHL standards through scheduled resurfacing and other assigned ice maintenance including but not limited to installation and deconstruction of the hockey ice surface.

This role will pay $18.08/hour during a 90day probationary period and $19.00/hour after the 90day probationary period.

The 15000 seat downtown arena is home to the eleventhtime National Champion UConn Womens Basketball team and the sixtime National Champion UConn Mens Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley the Mens & Womens basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses.

The XL Center is also home to the AHLs Hartford Wolf Pack the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers.

The XL Center entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts family shows iceskating spectaculars consumer events and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of worldrenowned artists including Taylor Swift Justin Timberlake Bruce Springsteen Billy Joel Pearl Jam Black Eyed Peas Britney Spears Drake and many others.

The XL Center will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.

• Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift in uniform and ready to work
• Must be able to work flexible hours weekends and holidays
• Must be able to take both verbal and written direction
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
• Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time kneel stoop climb stair and reach/lift above head in conjunction with ice maintenance tasks
• Responsible for ice resurfacing ice edging and overall ice quality
• Perform various general maintenance functions for equipment including blade changes exercising adequate judgment to ensure completion of tasks as assigned
• Assist in maintaining cleaning and safety checking all machines and areas surrounding as needed
• Monitor all refrigeration equipment keep necessary records and logbooks on equipment and inform the Ice Operations Manager if systems or equipment is malfunctioning
• Assist in cleaning up ice before and after events and setup game day ice crew area
• Works safely quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines
• Maintains a positive outgoing demeanor
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• All other tasks assigned by Supervisor

• Experience working in an ice rink setting preferred
• Comfortable in front of large crowds
• Comfortable operating Resurfacer with intermission rider
• Valid Drivers License
• 2 years experience operating ice resurfacing equipment preferred
• Previous experience with ice edger and forklift equipment preferred
