The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Company by providing accounting compliance analysis reporting and reconciliations to support month end close. This is a hybrid role.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Complete assigned tasks as regular part of month end closing process in accordance with month end closing schedule.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions related to each monthend close.
- Participate in preparation of monthly financial packages tax packages yearend audit/annual report and any additional reporting/analytical reviews requested by management.
- Maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts including balancing all intercompany accounts monthly.
- Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests for approval track capital expenditures maintain all fixed asset records for the company and record monthly depreciation and amortization journal entries.
- Prepare and manage the Vestcom payroll and benefit related entries in coordination with Avery Dennison corporate accounting.
- Complete departmental projects including the implementation of accounting changes.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.
Qualifications :
Key Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or similar field required plus five years of general ledger and financial statement reporting experience.
- Must have mathematical skills consistent with obtaining a fouryear accounting degree.
- This position requires daily use of an accounting software package for a medium size company. Previous experience with this type of software is required.
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and other associates required.
- Ability to show proficiency in the following computer applications: MS Office applications including Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to embody and reflect Vestcoms core values
