We are looking for an experienced Paralegal/Litigation Executive to join the Motor team to be based in our Birmingham office.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be aRTA fee earner competent running a defendant caseload of litigated fast track matters with a minimum of 12 months experience.

Expected to:

  • Handle a caseload of c65 files at any one time.
  • Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
  • Draft all pleadings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
  • Assess claims for special damages.
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
  • Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
  • Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings taken via telephone call or video call.
  • Attend conferences with counsel when required.
  • Conduct own telephone advocacy.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as claimants solicitors counsel courts brokers policyholders and the insurer clients.
  • Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.
  • Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous RTA litigation/fast track experience.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment.
  • A Professional manner with the ability to build relationship internally and externally.
