Assistant Store Manager
The DeLallo Italian Marketplace has been a destination for excellent customer service and outstanding Italian specialties bakery deli and prepared foods for 75 years. The management of our store and staff is paramount to our continued success. The role of the management team is to teach manage and participate in all store functions to create excellent and consistent experiences for loyal and new customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform all management tasks for the opening operation and closing of the store daily.
- Manage employees in each department to ensure proper customer service efficiency and consistency of jobs and effectiveness of labor hours.
- Train and mentor employees in all departments for their jobs.
- Participate in all jobs needed throughout the store as needed.
- Perform all financial functions for the balancing of daily business transactions.
- Order and receive inventory.
- Create analyze and act on reporting to effect sales and operation of the store.
- Create and teach merchandising product and sales actions to increase revenue and enhance customer experience.
Candidate Characteristics
- Must excel at team building and leadership.

- Excellent customer relationship skills and desire to interact with the public.
- Focused on managing people and jobs for consistency and efficiency.
- Goal driven with the ability to work with and take direction from general management to create confidence and value through learning.
Education Experience and Guidelines
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Serve Safe Food Certification a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of retail or foodservice management preferred.
- Computer competency in POS/Financial reporting software and basic Microsoft Excel functions.
- Ability to do manual work efficiently and at a fast pace.
- Weekend work is mandatory.

Founded in 1950 the George DeLallo Company is a familyowned manufacturer and distributor of specialty Italian and Mediterranean foods. As pioneers and leaders of the industry we have expanded from our beginnings in Jeannette PA as a roadside Italian marketplace to multiple locations. Our corporate office and distribution center is in Mount Pleasant PA where welead our national sales teams and operate our fleet to service customers. We operate three olive and antipasto production facilities in Mount Pleasant Penn PA and Oroville CA. In addition we own and operate our very own olive orchard in Oroville CA as well as an industrial bakery in Bridgeville PA.
