Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable credit card reconciliation entering in of general ledger entries and cash handling. This role ensures timely and accurate financial transactions maintains compliance with internal controls and supports the overall financial operations of Bellarmine Prep. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills attention to detail and commitment to the schools mission. This is a fulltime hourly position.


Core Functions and Duties
Review and process invoices timely ensuring proper documentation coding and approvals
Assist with vendor inquires and resolve invoice discrepancies
Reconcile vendor statements and payments as part of monthly close procedures
Entry of general ledger transactions
Assist department leads with credit card issues and process monthly reconciliation
Maintain organized digital and physical documentation of records for audit purposes
Assist with cash handling for school events ensuring compliance with financial policies
Sort incoming campus mail
Maintain record retention policies for all vendor and credit card files
Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned within the Business Office

Qualifications

Qualifications
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 13 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Strong written oral and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


Preferred Skills
Familiarity with general ledger systems and journal entry processes.
Experience with cash handling and eventrelated financial management.
Knowledge of Jesuit educational values or experience in a missiondriven organization is a plus.
