Justice Resource Institutes (JRI) Juvenile Court Clinic Program (JCCP) is seeking a Clinical Intern for our clinical assessment program position located at the Juvenile Court in Essex County. The JCCP provides evaluation consultation and liaison services to the Juvenile Courts of Essex County.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in the CJCC (Certified Juvenile Court Clinician) training process and attain certification
- Conduct court clinic evaluations and provide quality written reports to the Court under supervision of staff.
- Become familiar with local and regional treatment resources and other services potentially helpful to courtinvolved juveniles and their families.
- Provide effective clinical consultation and liaison services to judges probation officers attorneys and other court personnel
- Provide effective consultation services to families service providers and schools
- Follow established procedures for collaborating with applicable state agency personnel including DMH DCF DYS DPH DDS and their vendors and with public and private school programs in order to facilitate appropriate treatment and services
- Comply with professional ethical standards court and court clinic policies and procedures and mandatory reporting obligations established by law
- Create and maintain court clinic records in accordance with relevant statutes regulations court requirements and CJCC standards

The minimum staff qualifications for a Juvenile Court Clinician include:
- Applicant must be at minimum in second year of Masters degree program for social work. (MSW program only at this time)
- Must have experience conducting assessments of juveniles. Experience conducting evaluations of courtinvolved juveniles is preferred.
- Must possess strong writing and communication skills and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with nonmental health professionals
- Bilingual bicultural capacity preferred
