Patient navigator nurses are nurses who promote the timely flow of individual cancer patients through the healthcare continuum of care. Their emphasis is providing patient education and support assisting patients in the management of their illness from diagnosis through treatment and into survivorship and palliative care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Licenses and Certifications Required
Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure
BLS or ACLS certification required preferably at hire but no later than 30 days from date of hire
OCN certification confirmed by the ONCC completed within 18 months of date hired into the position
Educational Requirements
RN program as evidenced by licensure
Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration within 6 months of date hired to be replaced by Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course within 18 months of hire renewed per certification requirements
