Job Description
Summary
The Psychology Program housed within the Division of Social Sciences of the College of Liberal Arts & Education at Saint Xavier University invites applications for a fulltime annually renewable lecturer. The position is nontenure track but is annually renewable pending performance need and financial ability. The area of expertise is open but we particularly invite applicants with expertise in developmental sociocultural clinical/counseling cognitive or biological psychology and/or whose expertise intersects multiple subdisciplines.
The Psychology major is one of the most popular majors in the university and prides itself on offering a strong undergraduate curriculum providing ample studentfaculty research opportunities and supporting students career mentoring and preparation. In addition the Psychology Department serves various other majors and minors in addition to the general education social sciences requirement.
Start date is in the Fall of 2025.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credit hours each semester in psychology courses related to ones area of expertise
- Mentor undergraduate students in studentfaculty research
- Provide service to the program college and university
Qualifications
- Doctorate (Ph.D. Psy.D. or Ed.D. in psychology or a closely related discipline preferred Masters in psychology acceptable
- Evidence of or potential for excellent teaching including use of evidencebased best practices in teaching and learning
