Job Description:

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville Florida is recruiting a pediatric endocrinologist at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (nontenure track). Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Responsibilities include patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings and teaching pediatric endocrinology fellows pediatric residents and medical students. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a talented team with 9 endocrine faculty APRNs nurses dieticians diabetes educators and a team of medical and administrative assistants who assist us in the care of our patients. Our team was recognized as one of the nations top 10 pediatric diabetes and endocrinology specialty programs according to the 202324 U.S. News & World Report Rankings.

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is dedicated to providing the highestquality compassionate stateoftheart care for children and families affected by diabetes and other endocrine disorders. We serve more than 1000 children and young adults with diabetes have an active diabetes technology program and are internationally known for our type 1 diabetes research. We are also home to the nations largest program for PraderWilli syndrome and have a multidisciplinary obesity/metabolic program gender health clinic bisphosphonate infusion program and general endocrinology clinics. Our faculty pride themselves on being able to teach and train the next generation of pediatric endocrinologists. We have a threeyear Pediatric Endocrine fellowship program that provides comprehensive education research quality improvement and advocacy opportunities for future leaders in pediatric endocrinology. We have multiple opportunities to teach and train medical students and residents.

Nationally ranked in five pediatric specialties UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital provides the full spectrum of pediatric specialty services and is in the Top 5childrens hospital in the Southeast US. UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital provides care for the children of Florida and is a major destination center for pediatric patients both nationally and internationally who require specialized attention for complex medical problems.
UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital represents the only quaternarycare academic pediatric center in North Florida. The childrens hospital has 208 beds including fullyequipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital is part of the Childrens Miracle Networks alliance of premier hospitals for children.
The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development educating and training pediatric scientists and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patientoriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.
UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute the UF Genetics Institute the Powell Gene Therapy Center and the UF Health Cancer Center.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida in Pediatrics and be board certified/ board eligible in Pediatrics or the appropriate subspecialty.
