Job Description

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for an Assistant Controller in Suwanee GA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports the Sr. Director of Accounting by overseeing daytoday accounting tasks preparing financial statements ensuring compliance with accounting standards managing internal controls and assisting with monthend and yearend closing processes internal and external tax and audit requests and other companys financial reporting and analysis functions.

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage month end process. Including managing all journal entries account/ variance analysis & financial reports.
  • Actively involved with the efficient and effective use of SAP to streamline the accounting and finance functions.
  • Assist Sr. Director of Accounting in overseeing all financial and internal audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of business plans midyear reviews monthly reports of performance and other financial forecasts and special reports.
  • Manage and develop of accounting personnel 4.
  • Complete special analysis and projects as requested by the Sr. Director of Accounting Finance Controller CEO or other members of Leadership Team.
  • Develop clear factbased financial plans/forecasts including monthly projections annual midyear & long range plans.
  • Analyze financial and operational results versus forecast and plan; investigate significant variances develop corrective actions and communicate findings to department leaders.
  • Anticipate and identify business issues (including performance gaps opportunities and emerging needs) for management and develop appropriate action plans to maximize business profitability.
  • Participate in the development of models and analyses to aid in the validation of existing forecasts; and to support strategic initiatives and help review critical financial decisions. This includes monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics trend analysis and rate/volume analysis.
  • Prepare/review supplemental and other supporting documentation to meet regulatory and reporting deadlines.
  • Perform financial benchmarking including executive reporting of key performance indicators.
  • Assist Sr. Director of Accounting with month quarter & yearend close.
  • Prepare/review supplemental and other supporting documentation to meet regulatory and reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure timely consolidation and distribution of METUS monthly financial packages.
  • Implement and administers established accounting policies procedures and practices
  • Apply Accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and update monthly account reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results
  • Assure that accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the organizations accounting policies chart of accounts and related accounting principles and practices and that subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger.
  • Ensure the integrity of financials; and maintain sound internal controls.
  • Maintain integrity of accounting information and systems in accordance with standards and rules under JSOX as well as other regulating bodies.
  • Prepare various tax returns by required deadlines
  • Execute special projects (operational and financial) including the recommendation and implementation of process improvements
  • Interact with crossfunctional managers and communicate corporate goals and objectives
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with major customers.
  • Prepare and present as needed executive level presentations.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • 8 10 years experience analyzing financial statements and budgets.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficient in SAP.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping pace with changing customer demands.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $104000 and $143000 per year however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Companysponsored medical dental vision and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employees eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year 56 hours of paid sick leave annually and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid parental/disability/emergency/etc. leave if eligible.
