The company was formed in 2014 by CEO and Cofounder Adam Leeb after its breakout Freewrite distractionfree writing tools. Astrohaus is independent profitable and not funded by Venture Capital.Accolades: Freewrite products have won several awards and in 2021 the Smart Typewriter entered the Science Museum Londons permanent Printing & Writing Collection becoming a literal piece of history. Job Role
Join Astrohaus as the Head of Operations. In this key role you will work alongside CEO and Cofounder Adam Leeb to manage the people and processes that keep the business running efficiently. This includes finance HR customer success supply chain fulfillment and logistics. Engineering and Product will remain the responsibility of the CEO and Founder Adam Leeb.About You
Youre the person who gets a rush from turning chaos into clockwork. While others see complex problems you see opportunities to innovate. Youve successfully scaled consumer electronics companies from MVP to multimillion dollar operations and youre hungry for your next challenge.Youre obsessed with the details of how things are made moved and delivered. You appreciate good design and doing things right the first time. Youve probably taken apart every gadget youve owned not just out of curiosity but because you wanted to understand the entire journey from factory floor to customers hands. Your experience running 7figure or larger companies means you know exactly how to navigate the unique challenges of hardware businesses from component sourcing to lastmile delivery.
Youre not just jumping on the AI bandwagon youve been riding it. Youve already deployed AI into production and have demonstrated real cost savings and efficiencies. Where others see AI as a buzzword you see it as a power tool in your operational arsenal.
The phrase thats how weve always done it makes you cringe. Youve got the scars and stories from previous hardware companies to prove that conventional wisdom often needs disrupting. Your teams love you because you roll up your sleeves and dive into the trenches with them but they respect you because you know when to step back and let them work.
Responsibilities
- Drive the overall operational strategy for our consumer electronics business balancing growth with operational excellence
- Lead our AI transformation implementing intelligent automation across customer support operations and financial forecasting
- Own the companys financial functions including strategic planning working capital management tax and compliance
- Develop our talent strategy and company culture with particular focus on building teams that can bridge the gap between creativity and efficiency
- Own and optimize our fulfillment systems to handle both D2C and future retail channel distribution
- Own and optimize purchasing inventory planning freight and logistics
- Manage warehouse operations to ensure a clean safe and efficient environment
- Improve our RMA and repair processes to maintain customer satisfaction while minimizing costs
- Develop a worldclass customer success organization that understands both technical support and user experience for consumer devices
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Engineering or related field required
- 4 years experience as a founder in an operational role or as an operations leader at a 7 or 8 figure DTC ecommerce company
- Proven track record of implementing AI solutions in business operations
- Demonstrated experience in scaling operations and managing multiple functional areas
- Strong financial acumen and experience
- Excellence in team leadership and recruiting
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
Location
This position is based in the Metro Detroit area and requires onsite presence at Astrohaus beautiful new headquarters building in Oak Park MI. Candidates must either be local to the area or willing to relocate.
