TheDepartment of Customer Services is hiring for one 1Supervising Driver License Examiner Iposition located at the Pearl City Commercial Driver License (CDL) Office. This position is responsible forthe supervision of the CDL program supervising the driver license activities of the commercial driver license examiners and clerks located at the commercial driver license stations.

As a SupervisingDriver License ExaminerI your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Establishing performance standards and reviews and evaluates the performance of subordinates
  • Preparing and directing the training of subordinates and clerical staff and establishes training requirements and programs
  • Interpreting and recommending changes to laws policies and rules and regulations affecting the sections responsibilities and activities.
  • Evaluating developing recommending and initiating changes in policies tests and procedures to improve operations and to comply with statutory changes;
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a noncitizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of supervisory driver training instructional regulatory or related experience including or supplemented by one year of experience in testing applicants for driver licenses for heavy or commercial vehicles.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
At the time of application:
Possession of a valid commercial drivers license Category A (CDL A)with all endorsements.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Candidates must possess a good driving record as evidenced by a certified traffic abstract with no moving violations within the past three 3 years in order to be appointed to positions in this class; and must possess an appropriate valid drivers license for at least three 3 years immediately preceding appointment.

Verification Requirement: At the time of interview you must provide a current certified traffic abstract issued by the District Courts.

Your score will be based on the quality and quantity of your education experience and/or other related job requirements and competencies applicable to the position.
