Position purpose:

This is an ideal opportunity for a technically proficient leader to bring a group to the next level. As a Technical Manager you will lead a small but growing team of Linux engineers. You will be a good manager of people and provide technical leadership related to the operation architecture design configuration and implementation of Linux based solutions within the organization. Additionally you are expected to interact with the business understand their needs and translate into technical solutions.

Primary Duties will include:

• Managing a diverse and global team of skilled Linux engineer professionals in a fastpaced operational environment.
• Maintaining and developing our Linux Enterprise estate
• Optimize Linuxbased systems to achieve maximum performance and minimize latency.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and be able to effectively lead technical staff for effective of tasks while maintaining and developing positive team dynamics.
• Interact with product development teams to understand requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage cloud services and automation.
• Explore and integrate new technologies transitioning operations from traditional administration to IaaC automated provisioning and configuration management.
• Linux OS engineering using SRE/DevOps methodologies.
• Work closely with other members of the trading team to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions that meet those requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linuxrelated issues both independently and as part of a team.
• Continuously evaluate modern technologies and tools to improve the performance and reliability of our trading infrastructure leading implementation and operationalization of selected solutions
• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the Linuxbased trading infrastructure.
• Follow and enforce Linux best practices and engineering.
• Providing escalation support for subordinates and junior resources
• Evaluating and implementing potential new tools and technologies IaaS / IaaC models for infrastructure deployment provisioned within containers.
• Ensuring proper planning and of major projects/maintenance activities.
• Preparing work schedules to include daily support schedules holiday work schedules oncall rotations to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts always.

To land this role you will need:

• 5 years in leadership position.
• A good organizer of people working effectively under pressure in a high paced and energetic environment.
• Experience with lifecycle/configuration management tools i.e. Ansible Forman Terraform.
• Experience with Red Hat and Debian Linux flavors.
• Experience with cloud services required. Azure is preferred
• Effective communications skills both orally and in writing; able to create comprehensive proposals white papers and technical documents.
• Ability to set priorities and drive for results.
• Professional manner and customer service experience.
• Strong programming skills in one or more scripting languages such as Python Perl or Bash.
• Experience with network troubleshooting including TCP/UDP multicast packet captures kernel bypass.
• Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools like Ansible and Jenkins.
• Experience with bare metal provisioningvia PXE/Kickstart.
• Experience with Git CI/CD pipelinesIaC and code review workflows.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Information Technology or related computing major required or equivalent experience.
• ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations Certification preferred Intermediate.

Working conditions:

• Hybrid working 3 days in office per week)

Hiring Salary Range $150000..00 per yearto be determined by the education experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with market data. Subject to business performance and recommendations of management this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. This compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position is offered.
