About the Role:
Were looking for an experienced Security Design Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid position for someone based within 45 miles of Richmond VA. Youll play a key role in designing and managing integrated security systems taking ownership from design through project closeout and collaborating closely with both internal teams and clients to ensure project success.
What Youll Do:
- Design and engineer integrated security systems including enterprise headend systems
- Produce technical drawing packages network layouts bill of materials and electrical requirements
- Estimate system costs and configure solutions aligned with customer needs and project budgets
- Coordinate with project leads fellow engineers and clients to ensure accuracy and quality
- Support system installation commissioning and troubleshooting of networklevel components
- Assist in validation of system functionality and provide field change documentation for asbuilts
- Conduct or support onsite client training as needed
- Participate in project meetings and apply value engineering for costeffective outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all legal and safety standards onsite
What You Bring:
- 3 years of field experience as a Certified Electronic Technician or 7 years in the security industry
- Indepth knowledge of Integrated/Electronic Security Systems (ESS)
- Experience in presales engineering and security subsystem design
- Proficiency with platforms such as Genetec Milestone Avigilon or Software House CCURE 9000
- Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
- Valid Department of Criminal Justice registration (or ability to obtain)
- Must pass background check drug screen and credit check
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25 throughout VA and MD
- Comfortable working in a hybrid capacity and managing tasks independently
