ATTENTION:
Seeking a friendly professional selfmotivated Arts and Entertainment Associate to coordinate arts and culture programming for the new division of the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District. Job Summary:Under the direction of the Arts & Entertainment Manager the Arts and Entertainment Associate assists in administering activities to benefit the arts & entertainment division with a focus on planning and overseeing daily organizational duties including accurately upload and manage data on multiple platforms creating and implementing arts & culture classes for all age groups along with program evaluation and performance measures. Additional duties include volunteer recruitment and engagement marketing graphic design research and other responsibilities. Additionally the Arts and Entertainment Associate will assist in liaising with teaching artists/instructors and implementing classes at the District and partner sites while providing the highest customer care. This position would be responsible for completing their assigned tasks specific to the job accurately and independently while maintaining the confidentiality and a professional demeanor in all aspects of their work. The work schedule will vary and hours are not guaranteed weekly or monthly. Incumbent(s) must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Hours: Approximately 1520 hours per week (varies depending on class schedules some weeks might be up to 40 hours)

Job Requirements:
Knowledge Skill and Experience:
Knowledge of various activities and classes art inspired or recreational programming for all ages including facility and materials use; techniques principles and procedures used to deliver highquality artsinspired recreation programs.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract twodigit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates Licenses Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid California class C drivers license proof of personal vehicle insurance and a satisfactory driving record are required. At the option of the appointing authority persons hired into this class may be required to either possess at entry or obtain within specified time limits designated licenses certifications or specialized education and training relevant to the area of assignment.
Computer SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and the Microsoft Office Suite of products and possess typing skills of at least 4050 wpm. Knowledge of basic office equipment should include Internet and email copy and fax machines postage meter telephone and answering machine.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and frequently required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Exposed to dust noise machinery moving objects and other vehicles. Performs simple and power grasping pushing pulling and fine manipulation. May be exposed to constant vibration of equipment for prolonged periods. The position also requires near and far vision when inspecting and performing work activities operating vehicles tools and equipment and preparing paperwork and reports. Performs heavy physical labor such as lifting (up to 3050 pounds) carrying heavy objects and using a shovel and other equipment to dig. Climbs ladder and works at heights. Exposure to fumes dust and air contaminants which may cause eye and skin irritation.
Work ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Typically works outdoors in varied weather conditions with exposure to sun heat and inclement weather. Possible exposure to traffic and other potential hazards. Regularly works inside and maintains District facilities. May be assigned to work weekends holidays and irregular hours based on District scheduling needs. May be assigned to work during emergencies seasonallycaused circumstances or special projects and/or events in varying climate and temperature conditions.

SELECTION PROCEDURES:
Initial Selection Review:
The Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District reviews all initial application materials to identify qualified applicants. Applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be invited to the first phase of the recruitment process.
