DescriptionDNV Energy Systems is seeking a Senior Process Engineerto join our Hydrogen and lowcarbon fuels team. In this role you will work with a group of process engineers collaborating with other colleagues in identifying customizable solutions to clients challenges in their energy transition endeavors. Your contributions will help maintain DNVs knowhow around hydrogen as a fuel and feed to other processes. This knowhow will readily respond to clients requests in a fastpaced environment.
Hydrogen & Low Carbon Fuel aspires to become the preferred business partner to support customers in mitigating their risks by providing highquality due diligence studies focusing on green hydrogen production and its integration to a supply chain or the production of derivatives such as ammonia methanol or synthetic fuels. Among the challenges that a process engineer in the team will be facing are process modeling of several scales of a facility based on the customers requirements and the preparation of Frontend Loading (FEL) documents from the identification of the opportunity (FEL 0 to Select (FEL 2.
This role is based out of any of the following DNV Offices (Houston TX Columbus OH Medford MA Miami FL) presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three 3 days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding rolespecific requirements will be shared during the interview process.
What Youll Do
- Perform technical due diligence on processes for producing and using hydrogen including processes to make hydrogenderived products such as methanol ammonia and synthetic fuels
- Being able to scale down processes and their corresponding cost estimates matching customers interests work in designing and optimizing production processes of different scales
- Leverage a deep understanding of lowcarbon fuel technologies and process modeling to predict and deliver scenarios supporting the customers strategic decisionmaking process
- Develop lead and coordinate mass and energy balance methodologies to assess enduse applications technical and economic impacts
- Contribute to the knowhow building and knowledge management of the Process Engineering team
- Support business development by leading and participation in the preparation of proposals.
- Manage work related activities for multiple projects and proposals in a fastpaced environment
- Review billiondollar capital project documentation in several maturation levels such as FEL2 FEL3 and Construction to comment on information completeness.
- Design processes using process modeling tools to produce a list of major equipment for preparation of a Cost Estimate Class 4 as per AACE.

Is Required
- Masters degree (. in Chemical Engineering or higher
- Minimum Five >5 years of relevant experience in process engineering with exposure to process modeling with tools such as UniSim or Aspen HYSYS. Ability to develop chemical processes models from scratch. Experience with only review of process models will not be considered.
- Experience with making/preparing process/system design including PFS PEFS PFDs P&IDs and the ability to design equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge level for reading and preparing these diagrams with tools such as MS Visio and/or AutoCAD and/or equivalent
- Experience as a team member in capital projects through the several stages of project development including FrontEnd Loading (FEL) stages from FEL 0 to FEL 3 construction commissioning and operations.
- Ability to prepare cost estimates (Class 5 to Class 4 as per AACE).
- Knowledge about hydrogen ammonia methanol and synthetic fuels processes.
- Master competence level in Process Safety
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to subject and nonsubject matter experts
- Strong project management and change management skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given workweek
- Results and documentationoriented work philosophy with great attention to detail and a desire to grow
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10 of the time to conferences customer meetings project sites agencies and internal meetings
- Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to rent and drive a car or travel on public conveyances when required
