Job Description
Location: NAWS China Lake
Security Clearance Requirement: Top Secret
Telework Eligible No 100 OnSite
What Youll Do: As the Jr. System Administrator you will be part of an important DoD program that has a direct impact on our nations Warfighter. Your expertise in your field will be utilized and respected. This position will be based 100 onsite at NAWS China Lake CA. This is a 100 onsite position not eligible for telework.
- Assisting in the planning testing and implementation of upgrades for our information systems.
- Integrating new software applications.
- Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Administering boundary devices (i.e. managed switches proxy servers routers firewalls cryptography and intrusion detection systems).
- Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker incorporating automated Benchmarks.
- Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment.
- Managing DoD HostBasedSecurity Systems (HBSS).
- Overseeing campusscale (multiple buildings with hundreds of users) server installations.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field of study is required. If you do not hold a degree an additional 3 years of experience as an IT technician on DoD classified networks may be considered.
- At least 3 years of experience as a computer/server systems administrator is required.
- You have a working knowledge of ESS.
- You have handson experience working with routers and firewalls and a working knowledge of Active Directory.
- You have a very strong background with RHEL Linux.
- You have Virtual Machine/HyperV knowledge.
- You have demonstrated experience using the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP).
- You possess a DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01M (i.e. GSEC Security CE SSCP and Vendor certification and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system).
- You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
- You have professional and effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- You take a proactive approach to your work and youre able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
- You have demonstrated critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Your organizational skills are impressive allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities.

Security Clearance Requirement:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Salary Range:
- The estimated salary range for this position will be $100000 $120000 annually based on an individuals level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
