Job Description

Position Overview:

Founders Classical Academy Online seeks a Director of Online Learning to oversee the development and integration of a classical curriculum with Bright Thinker. This role requires a leader with a teaching background driven by content expertise experience in curriculum development and ideally experience in virtual learning. The director will collaborate with various departments within ResponsiveEd Solutions to ensure alignment with classical education principles while optimizing digital learning platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop refine and oversee the integration of FCAs classical curriculum with Bright Thinker.
  • Ensure the curriculum aligns with classical education principles emphasizing rich content Socratic discussion and the great books tradition.
  • Collaborate with academic teams instructional designers and technology staff to enhance virtual learning experiences.
  • Maintain curriculum coherence across grade levels and subjects ensuring rigor and fidelity to the classical model.
  • Provide professional development and support to teachers implementing curriculum changes.
  • Work closely with ResponsiveEd Solutions to ensure compliance with educational standards while maintaining the distinctiveness of a classical liberal arts education.
  • Stay informed on best practices in classical education online learning and curriculum development.
  • Analyze curriculum effectiveness and recommend improvements based on teacher feedback and student performance data.
  • Participate in onsite meetings at the home office twice per week and engage in virtual collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • 510 years of experience in classical education (teaching curriculum design or instructional leadership).
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Experience in virtual learning and online curriculum platforms (Bright Thinker experience preferred).
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to guide faculty and curriculum teams.
  • Familiarity with ResponsiveEd and its educational approach is a plus.

Work Requirements:

  • Hybrid schedule (minimum two days per week at the home office).
  • Ability to travel occasionally for curriculumrelated events or training.
