ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Senior Sales Manager will be instrumental in executing our longterm ambitious growth strategy in Poland. This role will be critical in winning the first projects in Poland and building up strong market and customer intimacy to build an executable pipeline in Poland. The person will be working as an integral part of the Growing & New Markets team reporting to our Sales Lead Eastern Europe; and creating the foundation for our future Polish business structure.
This role focuses on transacting projects in Poland directly managing accounts and building an executable pipeline. To reach the objectives the sales manager is expected to have strong experience driving deal teams and leading by example along the sales cycle from early detection of projects / pipeline growth until closing of deals.
This will require strong collaboration across a complex matrix organization working closely and delivering results with all commercial functions sales engineering and delivery.
The energy storage industry changes monthly this role will be crucial to meeting the needs of our customers today and in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive market intimacy across the subregion with a strong initial focus on Poland: Understanding business fundamentals and how they change over time. Decide on the customers applications and segments that are the most attractive fit for Fluences energy storage products services and digital applications.
Build and maintain executive level relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders and prioritizing sales opportunities using strategic selling criteria.
Leading customer communication through the entire sales cycle as well as longterm account management ensuring strong handovers and effective escalation path for customer during sales cycle.
Provide technical and commercial support during sales process become a subject matter expert across all elements of Fluences technology able to answer a range of technical queries on our hardware software and services offerings.
Lead and collaborate with commercial project management legal and sales engineering teams (Deal Team) to develop compelling offers for key customers.
Lead the negotiation and closing of transactions for energy storage products and services with the support of a Deal Team and provide oversight and mentorship of more junior deal team members.
Deliver on quarterly and annual sales order intake and margin targets established in coordination with the Sales Director. Individual accountability for meeting sales team budget and key KPIs. Support data driven decision making via Salesforce and other reporting/CRM tools including tracking customer interactions and opportunity pipeline management.
Identification of customers applications and segments that are an attractive fit for Fluences energy storage products services and digital applications. Strive to understand the customers needs inside and out.
Gathering and dissemination of competitive intelligence and bid feedback to improve Fluence offerings
Maintenance development and improvement of tools to support sales efforts and improve sales team efficiency
Champion and oversee data driven decision making via Salesforce and other reporting/CRM tools. Ensure accurate tracking of customer interactions and opportunity pipeline
Representation of Fluence at industry conferences and other events.
Regular travel in Poland and Eastern Europe required occasional travel across Europe
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated track record in building up sales pipelines successfully and driving contracts to efficient close as a deal leader
Direct experience on batterybased energy storage systems and contracting from a technical and commercial perspective
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel PowerPoint Word). Experience with Salesforce Klue RFPio PowerBI a plus.
Strong executive level stakeholder relationships and network within the regional energy storage sector including developers IPPs and local EPCs
Solution oriented mindset and creative problem solving with a focus on business objectives.
Possess an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a whatever it takes attitude. Exhibit a forward leaning posture high ownership and diligent pursuit of new opportunities.

The preferred candidate should have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (engineering business economics) with a postgraduate degree or MBA highly preferred. Or equivalent demonstration through additional work experience.
At least 7 years of experience in the energy power generation or clean tech sectors with a proven track record in sales engineering or other commercial role.
Fluency in English and Polish required additional languages such as Ukrainian and Romanian a plus.
