SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will develop and teach Agricultural Leadership Education and Communications (ALEC) curriculum for undergraduate and graduate students focusing primarily on developing urban food system leaders. This is a ninemonth appointment that will serve the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) in a tenuretrack faculty position. Oportunity for summer employment will be based on student enrollment and need. The primary responsibility of this position will be teaching research and service as needed by CASNR by the university and as required by accreditation agencies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach online and facetoface undergraduate and graduate courses provide leadership and mentorship for graduate students advise students regarding course and career choices and provide leadership in the development of the urban food systems program at East Texas A&M Dallas.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instructional programmatic and assessment to ensure an effective program in Agricultural Leadership Education and Communication.
- Provide an atmosphere for teaching and collaboration with the faculty and students within CASNR and at East Texas A&M University.
- Teach courses related to Agricultural Leadership Education and Communication.
- Advise students in Agricultural Leadership Education and Communication.
- Communicate with external stakeholders (Dallas Regional Chamber AgriLife Research personnel AgriLife Extension personnel high school teachers administrators etc. to promote CASNR and East Texas A&M Dallas Campus.
- Develop and coordinate the graduate Urban Food Systems program in CASNR.
- Conduct research including submission of grant proposals securing of external research funding presentation of findings at regional and national conferences and publication of peerreviewed research articles in Agricultural Leadership Education and/or Communication.
- Assist with FFA LDE and CDE contests as hosted by the university.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Ph.D. in Agricultural Leadership Agricultural Education or closely related field.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Ability to teach in the field of agricultural leadership education and/or communication
Experience and knowledge in urban food systems or urban agriculture
Excellent ability to communicate effectively (written and spoken English)
Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Ability to: Multitask and work well as part of a team.
- Licensing/Professional Certifications: Valid drivers license

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Professional experience in Agricultural Leadership Education and/or Communication
- Professional experience in nonformal educational programs
- Technical communications skills
- Higher education teaching experience as instructor of record
- Experience with online instruction
- Experience in grant writing publishing peerreviewed articles and delivery of research presentations
- Leadership experience with FFA 4H or other agriculture youth organizations
