School Year: Long Term Substitute High School Spanish Instructor at TAPA: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts Providence RIITAPA: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts an academically rigorous public charter school for the arts seeks an High School Spanish Instructor. The ideal candidate recognizes and celebrates the interconnections between the study of Spanish language and culture and the arts through a culturally responsive pedagogical framework.TAPAs antioppression creative community is enriched by the cultural religious racial ethnic and linguistic diversity of our neurodiverse families students and employees. Demographically nearly all members of the TAPA student body are people of color predominantly Latinx with many students speaking both English and Spanish in their homes. A significant portion of TAPAs student body identifies as members of the LGBTQ community. It is an organizational priority for TAPA to hire staff members who have cultural commonalities with our students and families. The High School Math Teacher teaches five classes each with approximately 18 students. They will also work directly with a smaller group of High School students to lead an Advisory. It is the hope that an Adviser stays with their advisory throughout the students middle school years at TAPA. Advisory provides an opportunity for socialemotional learning and support. The Advisor/Advisee relationship ensures that every student has a schoolbased advocate and a firstline connection to TAPA. Advisors and Advisees build strong relationships and bridges through empathy. This position is an incredible opportunity to join TAPAs tightknit teaching corps.At TAPA Math is taught through a collaboration of blended learning utilizing Imagine Learning Classroom artsintegration and the greenstandard Illustrative Math curriculum. TAPA prepares students to successfully meet or exceed Rhode Islands graduation requirements and perform at (or above) grade level on all state and local assessments. TAPA meets each students individual academic needs using assessment data and continuous feedback while providing clear academic social and artistic expectations.
