Responsibilities:
Provide support for Centers operations event planning and administrative tasks including but not limited to:
Assist in planning and coordinating all centers events.
Communicate with faculty students other stakeholders about Centers events and opportunities.
Book photographers videographers setup and takedown assist with website updates and other tasks necessary to host events.
Coordinate the booking of the CIE oncampus space SB 109
Coordinate with the other Centers student workers such as social media & student engagement student fellows and Directors to ensure fluidity and consistency across all platforms.
Attend events to support the effective functioning of events when schedule permits.
Conduct research for the Centers.
Assist with creating email marketing announcements and other promotional materials.
Act as student representative at specified School of Business and Centers events.
Represent and answer questions about the Centers with prospective students and families at open house and admissions events.
As needed represent the Centers at events such guest speakers and other oncampus or virtual events.
Planned dates are listed below; the event schedule will be confirmed at the beginning of each semester.
Demonstrate professionalism and sound judgement while representing the Centers.
Attend weekly team meetings and participate in all GAspecific training sessions.
Graduate assistants will report to the Director of Operations for School of Business Centers.
Maintain a preset work schedule with ability to work weekends for open house and admitted student events; work schedule will be set at the beginning of each semester to accommodate your class schedule.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate credit hours per semester.
Excellent writing and grammar.
Exercises excellent judgement and discretion with confidential information.
Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with highest attention to detail.
Ability to interact with students.
Strong organizational analytical & communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Suite (Forms Excel Word Outlook)
Experience with or ability to learn additional platforms such as Canva Open Ocean and others unique to QU.
Well organized selfstarter ability to work with limited supervision ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Willingness to take on lastminute tasks and execute effectively and perform in a fastpaced environment.
Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with individuals on and off campus at a variety of levels.
Ability and willingness to attend Centers events when schedule permits.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Possess a sense of savviness in working with business and political leaders. Ability to maintain discretion.
Strong research skills
Must have reliable transportation; Duties include occasional travel between York Mount Carmel and North Haven campuses
Hours of Position:
20 hours per week; flexible schedule between the hours of 8 am5 pm
Occasional events outside normal business hours
GAs will be needed for admissions (or similar) events that typically occur one weekend per month in September October November February March and April. Specific dates will be announced prior to start of Academic year.
