Job Description
Under the general direction of the Pacific AETC Director and the Pacific AETC PI the Pacific AETC Hawaii & USAffiliated Pacific Islands (HIAPI) Director develops implements manages and evaluates all aspects of the scope of work for the HIAPI a unit of the Department of Family and Community Medicine and a local Partner (LP) of the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center (Pacific AETC). Major projects in the State of Hawaii American Samoa Guam the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Palau the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands include the:
- Basic AETC training program which is focused on training technical assistance and other modalities to increase the capacity of community providers serving people at risk for and living with HIV; Practice Transformation projects in clinics serving people at risk for and living with HIV; and Interprofessional Education a project designed to work with faculty and students to integrate HIV into the team based care model.
- Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) community projects for training minority and minorityserving clinicians and
- Ending the HIV Epidemic program and projects
- Other projects through additional funding sources
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $67000 $143800 (Annual Rate).

The Training & Health Equity Collaborative (THE Collaborative) is housed in the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) under the guidance of the Principal Investigators the Unit has domestic training grants and has been funded at the federal and state level as the prime recipient as well as subcontracts from various universities and agencies.
Its major project the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center (Pacific AETC) provides HIVrelated training education technical assistance consultation and information services to health care providers in California Nevada Arizona and Hawaii and the six Pacific Islands. Pacific AETCs regional office at UCSF generates and administers government grants and contracts then subcontracts major portions of the work to eight medical schools (UC and other Universities) in our fourstate region.
