Substitute School Nurse

In this dynamic role you will provide essential medical care and support to students in the absence of our regular school nurse. You will be kept busy with: - Health assessments. Conduct health assessments to identify student health issues.
- First Aid. Administer first aid and emergency care to students as needed.
- Medication Management. Administer medications according to school policies and procedures.
- Health Education. Educate students on health and wellness topics.
- Health Records. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Communication. Communicate with parents teachers and staff regarding student health concerns.
- Support. Assist in healthrelated programs and initiatives within the school.
Youre good at: - Medical Expertise. Possess strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric care.
- Empathy. Demonstrate empathy and patience when dealing with students health concerns.
- Organization. Maintain organized health records and manage medication administration using SNAP SDJAs EHR (electronic health record) system.
- Teamwork. Collaborate with administrators educators and staff to support student wellbeing.
- Problemsolving. Think on your feet and provide solutions in emergency situations.
- Compassion. Show genuine care and concern for the wellbeing of all students.
You bring this to the table: - Nursing Certification. Current nursing certification and state licensure..
- Pediatric Experience. Previous experience in pediatric/school nursing preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification. Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Adaptability. Ability to adapt to various health situations in a school environment.
- Excellent Communication Skills. Strong communication skills both written and verbal for interacting with students parents and staff.
- Professionalism. Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to ethical standards.
- Team Player. Willingness to work collaboratively with school staff and parents.
- Flexibility. Be available for oncall assignments as needed.
