Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering highquality radiation therapy to patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of advanced radiation therapy equipment safety protocols and patient care. This position requires a detailoriented professional who can work closely with physicians and medical staff to ensure precise and effective treatments.
***Hiring for both local and traveler positions! Only candidates outside a 50mile radius qualify for traveler roles. Rates vary based on experience and whether the position is local or traveler.***
Shift: Day shift8hrs 5 days
Qualifications
- Completion of an AAS or AMAcertified program
- RRT license with 35 years of related experience
- NYS Radiation Therapy license (required)
- Must successfully pass preemployment health clearance
Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy to patients as prescribed following National Cancer Institute regulations
- Operate and maintain highvoltage radiation therapy equipment (Co60 Linear Accelerator Simulator etc. in compliance with safety standards
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments
- Interpret physician prescriptions and deliver accurate radiation treatments
- Perform pretreatment procedures including tumor localization simulation contouring and collecting treatment planning data
- Take radiographic films to confirm treatment volume and ensure accurate delivery
- Monitor patients for radiation reactions provide instructions and support and implement necessary safety measures
- Maintain accurate treatment records port films and documentation
- Participate in departmental training inservice education and compliance programs
- Work collaboratively with medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care
