Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will require drafting and designing plans for Fire Sprinkler systems ensuring deadlines are met for each project. Projects will include both new builds and tenant improvements for commercial facilities such as schools restaurants office buildings hospitals etc.
RESPONSIBILITES (INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
Prepare design layouts and drawings
Apply national and local codes and standards for fire protection design and installation
Obtaining local authority approvals and permits
Effectively coordinate with architectural structural and other trades
Prepare stock lists
Work closely with sales staff
Assist with onsite surveys
Attend project specific meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
Fire sprinkler system experience favorable
Experience in layout and hydraulic calculations of wet pipe dry pipe preaction and special hazards preferred
Working knowledge of CAD and MS office
Ability to visualize in 3D
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Construction background a plus
Mechanical analytical and mathematical aptitude
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Mechanical engineering degree helpful but not required
NICET III or IV certification is beneficial
Experience as a Project Manager helpful
A clean motor vehicle record with a valid drivers license and the ability to pass a preemployment drug test
5 years of experience in design
AutoSprink experience is a plus
