Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• Minimum of three 3 years of recent experience in Histology and Cytology.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must meet all credentialing requirements and provide documentation of immunizations physical exams and tuberculosis screening (Two Step TST or Blood Assay).

Job Responsibilities:

• Gross tissue specimens accession them into the computer system embed cut stain and coverslip tissue samples.
• Prepare special stains for tissue as requested by pathologists.
• Assist pathologists in cutting surgical specimens frozen sections and autopsies.
• Process specimens using laboratory equipment to maintain specimen integrity.
• Serve as a backup morgue assistant when required.
• Identify and resolve any collection processing testing or reporting issues.
• Ensure quality control and professional standards in all histological procedures.
