Job Description:

The Department of PSYCHOLOGY at the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a fulltime ninemonth tenuretrack Assistant Professor in Social Psychology to begin August 16 2025. This position is open to all subareas in Social Psychology including but not limited to attitudes and social cognition intergroup relations and group processes interpersonal and close relationships emotion motivation self and identity health and wellbeing cultural and political psychology and personality processes. Although not a requirement we encourage applications from scholars with expertise in quantitative computational or neuroscience methods that could not only enhance the research profile of the Social Psychology program but also contribute to departmental synergies between programs (e.g. social cognitive neuroscience).The Department of Psychologyvalues interdisciplinary approaches to research and training and strongly encourages collaboration across its five programs (behavior analysis behavioral and cognitive neuroscience counseling social and developmental psychology).Applicants will be expected to 1 maintain an outstanding program of research with high potential for external funding based on openscience principles 2 teach psychology graduate and undergraduate courses 3 mentor students and 4 provide service to the institution.
