An executive assistant (EA)supports a highlevel manager CEO or entrepreneur by managing their calendar correspondence and other administrative tasks.EAs are often responsible for the business side of a company and they typically have more experience and tactical thinking than administrative assistants.
Here are some responsibilities of an executive assistant:
- Calendar management
- Manage the executives calendar including scheduling meetings appointments and events.EAs must be able to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance and anticipate potential conflicts.
- Communication
- Handle incoming calls emails and other communications.EAs may also write and edit correspondence memos and presentations.
- Travel arrangements
- Manage travel logistics and activities including accommodations transportation and meals.
- Meetings
- Arrange and coordinate meetings and events including booking meeting rooms and ordering lunches.EAs may also take notes at meetings and prepare the initial draft of minutes.
- Research
- Conduct research assemble and analyze data and prepare reports and documents.
- Administrative tasks
- Perform general administration duties such as filing scanning documents faxing and tidying offices.
