Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare the design and complete load calculations schematics equipment selection and system concept report.
Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
Manage projects from design through construction.
Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
Direct review and approve project design changes.
Engage in meetings with clients contractors and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
Provide expertise and guidance in the identification analysis and resolution of problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Postsecondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
6 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial commercial and/or institutional buildings.
Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC) Ontario Building Code (OBC) etc.
Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.
